Acting Camden County Prosecutor Jill S. Mayer says that a man was fatally shot inside of a Camden apartment Saturday night.

Police say they were called to an apartment on the 1200 block of Chestnut Street around 8 p.m. for a report of a shooting.

When officers arrived, they found the man, identified as 46-year-old Darrell Matthews, with a gunshot wound to the chest. The victim was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.
