(01/13/06) CALDWELL ? Parents in Caldwell are keeping a sharp eye on their children following a string of attempted abductions in the area.
Police say the first incident occurred last Friday when a man pulled up to a home on Berkendene Road and motioned for an 11-year-boy to get in the vehicle. The boy quickly ran into his home and alerted his parents. The driver then fled the area.
A 14-year-old girl says she was also approached on two separate occasions. Two men talked to the girl the first time, and one man who claimed he was armed talked to her during the second incident. The girl says the same car, a dark sedan with the partial out-of-state license plate C4Z, was involved both times. The automobile has a broken taillight, according to the girl.
