A Bronx resident has been indicted on charges of assaulting two New York City police offers, resisting arrest and other charges.Last month, the two officers discovered a stolen car at East 173 Street and Clay Avenue. The Bronx District Attorney's office says Raphael Then got into the car and ignored repeated requests from the officers to turn it off. Court papers say Officer Samuel Castro said he noticed a weapon on Then and attempted to stop him from grabbing it. The car then rolled back and pinned another officer against a metal pole, breaking her legs. Officials say Castro shot at the car and hit Then in the face. He remains hospitalized and will be arraigned in December.
