A Jersey City apartment building manager is hoping free, green wheels is enough of an incentive to call his complex home.

Marco Tartaglia, manager of Canco Loft's, is offering a free Smart car to anyone who purchases a penthouse. His building, which includes views of the Manhattan skyline, has about 40 penthouses available for purchase at the Jersey City complex. The penthouses' asking prices start at $550,000.

"These days, everybody wants to be green," says Tartaglia. "Everybody wants to find a parking space easily throughout this area ? so a Smart car really fits the profile perfectly."

The sales staff says the Smart car isn't the only incentive for buying. They expect property values to go up in Jersey City over the next few years, especially following the major renovation planned for the Journal Square area.
