Some 40,000 kids in Bronx and citywide may find themselves without a ride come Monday due to a new bus route plan.
The Department of Education (DOE) slashed bus routes throughout the city to save nearly $20 million in administrative costs. DOE officials say the reason why some kids may not have a bus any longer is because parents failed to respond to a survey on the matter. The DOE says the money saved will go towards helping students.
Parents who are unsure about the revamped bus routes can call their school's principal or contact the Office of Pupil Transportation at (718) 482-3700.
