One Brooklyn woman is looking forward to celebrating her 100th Thanksgiving.
Milly Furiya has lived in her Boerum Hill home for over 50 years. Although she battles dementia, she is still marching to her own beat, singing and getting ready to celebrate the holiday.
“I would like a Thanksgiving dinner that has all kinds of colorful vegetables,” said Furiya, who says that while she’s excited for Thanksgiving, she doesn’t get too excited about it after celebrating it for almost a century.
Anna Jenkins and Leslie Marseglia, of VNS Health Hospice Care, have been taking care of Furiya for almost a year and say the job has given them a big reward – creating a real connection with Milly.
