Merchants at the Bronx Terminal Market may soon have to pack up and leave after a judge ruled Tuesday against their legal bid to stay.
A state Supreme Court judge ruled the city has the power to shut down the municipal market. The ruling hinders efforts by Terminal Market merchants, who sued the city last year to block their evictions.
Some city leaders want to put up a shopping mall in the Terminal Market area near Yankee Stadium. An attorney for the merchants says he is now considering whether to appeal this latest ruling.
