Bronx football players and coaches geared up Thursday for their last game of the season, the Catholic High School Football League (CHSFL) Senior Bowl.
The all-star game takes place Saturday at Hofstra University, where New York City?s best players will be pitted against Long Island?s all stars. New York City players spent the day practicing at Fordham University, where they ran through drills and strategies. Eight Bronx players are expected to start for the city team, including Fordham Prep quarterback Sean McVicker, Mount superstar running back Michael Petrellese and Hayes fullback Frank Hogan. Linebacker Colin Flynn will be on defense for the city, along with Arvell Harris and Sean Kern.Coach Mario Valentini, of Mount Head, is the city's game coordinator, while Hayes' C.J. O'Neil and Spellman's Joe Desimone will coach. Players say they are looking forward to one last high school football experience.
