Bronx students presented their design for a new building for their school to Bronx Borough President Adolfo Carrion Junior Thursday.
Currently, the Academy for Careers in Sports students share a campus with two other schools. Carrion requested the city build a school across the street from the new Yankee Stadium for the sports students. Carrion then asked the sports school students to design what their new school should look like. Students from Samuel Gompers High School helped the sports school students with their building design.
Meanwhile, the city has yet to commit to Carrion?s proposed site or the school itself. However, Carrion says he will continue to push to get the school its own building.
