Three out of six stores that had been destroyed in a massive fire on Southern Boulevard nearly a year ago have since been rebuilt and are now back in business.
Last November, a three-alarm blaze that started in a Laundromat spread to neighboring businesses, including the Southern Boulevard Pet Center where nearly all the animals died.
In January, the pet store reopened down the block from its original location, and the owner says business is booming. A barber shop and a nail salon that were also destroyed in the fire reopened as well on Southern Boulevard.
