Bronx man sentenced to 6 years for slashing MTA conductor

A Bronx man convicted of slashing an MTA conductor in the face in 2025 was sentenced Tuesday to six years in prison, according to the Bronx District Attorney's Office.
Isaiah Thompson, 29, was found guilty of assaulting MTA conductor Lynette Pierce on June 10, 2025.
Pierce, 36, was working on a southbound 6 train when it arrived at the Whitlock Avenue subway station in Foxhurst.
Thompson was also sentenced to five years of post-release supervision.
Prosecutors say Thompson approached Pierce while she was standing on the platform and slashed the left side of her face with a sharp object.
Pierce suffered two lacerations and was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital, where she received eight stitches.
Transit Workers Union members attended Thompson’s trial in support of Pierce.
Union representatives say the attack left Pierce with lasting physical and emotional trauma, calling for stronger protections for transit workers.
Thompson was arrested on a warrant at his home on June 12, 2025, after police identified him through surveillance video.
