NYPD detectives identified the man who was shot and killed inside a subway station in Midtown Manhattan on Saturday as a Bronx resident.

Darrel Rodriguez, 26, of University Heights, was shot on the northbound E train platform at the 7th Avenue station near West 53rd Street.

Detectives say gunfire erupted just before 12:30 p.m. after an argument between Rodriguez and two other men.

Rodriguez suffered a gunshot wound to the chest, according to police.

Paramedics rushed him to Bellevue Hospital, where he died.

The NYPD released images of his alleged killer just hours after the shooting, who remains on the run as of Sunday evening.

Investigators say he was last seen wearing a red tracksuit, a black vest, a black face mask and carrying a backpack.

Police urge anyone with information to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
