A new park where patrons can skateboard opened for business Thursday.
Elected officials joined Bronx kids for the ribbon cutting at the park in the Bruckner Playground. Children were given free helmets and vitamin water. The park closes daily at 9 p.m. The parks commissioner says the park is designed for beginner and intermediate skaters. The equipment does not reach higher than 3 feet because adult supervision will not be provided.
The parks commissioner says the facility will be a benefit to the Bronx community.
