A new public awareness campaign has been created to encourage Bronx families to take advantage of New York City?s public health clinics.
Bronx families lacking health insurance often bring their children to hospital emergency rooms for basic medical care. Health officials are instead encouraging Bronx residents to take advantage of the city?s free or low-cost clinics. The new public awareness campaign includes radio, print and outdoor ads. Officials say those seeking medical attention can receive care regardless of their immigration status or ability to pay.
There are five clinics in the Bronx. Services include vaccinations, physicals and a variety of screenings.
