Bronx officials may soon be pitching in to help give Fox Park a foxy new look by promising $1 million in restoration money for a renewal project.Councilwoman Maria del Carmen Arroyo has earmarked the money, but warned it will not be enough to cover the estimated $5 million renovation the park needs. She also says the funds might not be ready until April, 2008.Park-goers are keen on making Fox Park the Bronx?s version of Manhattan?s Central Park. They envision a park loaded with swings, sprinklers, new basketball courts, and maybe even a dog run. City College student Camille Dunn and three other students went so far as to draw up plans detailing park renovations they?d like to see. According to the New York Civic Participation Project, the park has not seen any renovations since 1981. Residents complain that people are always getting hurt in the park. They add the park is often dirty.
