A teacher at Thomas Hooker School in Bridgeport is accused of sexually assaulting a paraprofessional.

Christopher Verras was arrested on Monday

The 34-year-old was charged with sexual assault and risk of injury to a child.

Verras' arrest warrant states he repeatedly sent text and Snapchat messages to a 19-year-old female, even though she did not provide her contact information to him. He also sent the woman explicit photographs several times.

The warrant also states that Verras forced the victim to repeatedly have non-consensual sex with her, including when they were working. During multiple incidents, a student was nearby.

Court records show Verras was released on bond and is slated to be arraigned July 15.

News 12 has reached out to the school district regarding the status of Verras' employment but has not heard back.
