Nothing screams springtime more than cherry blossom season — and in Washington, D.C., the trees are now in peak bloom.
Cherry blossoms typically last for a few days. This is the second earliest peak bloom on record, tying a similar mark set in 2000.
But if you don't have time to get to the capitol this week, don't worry. In New Jersey, cherry blossom season doesn't start for a few more weeks.
The Essex County Cherry Blossom Festival at Branch Brook Park in Newark is scheduled to start April 6 with Bloomfest set for April 14. For more information, click here.
