Music, games and holiday cheer filled the Boys & Girls Club of Paterson and Passaic on Saturday as hundreds of families gathered for the organization’s 60th annual Holiday Jam.
The event welcomed club members and opened its doors to the broader Paterson and Passaic communities. The event also offered children and families a day of celebration and support during the holiday season.
Children enjoyed games, rides, bouncy houses and a visit with Santa Claus. They shared their wish lists and received holiday gifts provided by organizers. The celebration also included a surprise appearance by recording artist Mariah the Scientist, which gave club members the chance to meet her and take photos.
“This is about community, building it and supporting families,” said Christina Dukes Brown, CEO of the Boys and Girls Club of Paterson and Passaic. “Our goal is to be a beacon of hope. This tradition is 60 years strong, and we have 60 more to go.”
Organizers emphasized that the Holiday Jam is designed to support entire families, not just children. Parents were able to take home groceries, clothing, and books to help ease holiday expenses.
The annual celebration is part of the club’s ongoing mission to build community, spread joy and ensure that families feel supported during the holiday season.
