The man accused of planting bombs in New Jersey and New York City over the weekend has connections to Middlesex County, according to the criminal complaint against him.
Ahmad Rahami worked and lived in Perth Amboy, according to documents and witnesses. The criminal complaint claims Rahami ordered bomb materials and shipped them to a business in Perth Amboy, where he worked until Sept. 12.
Rahami worked at a Kennedy Fried Chicken store on Smith Street, according to a man who says he recognized the suspect from images aired on TV.
And according to the criminal complaint and other records, he had a residence nearby at the Harbor Terrace Apartments.
Investigators say he may have ordered the phones allegedly used to detonate bombs at a Family Dollar store less than a half-mile away.
The mayor of Perth Amboy sent an alert with a statement saying that there did not appear to be any danger to the community.
