A boil water advisory remains in place for Edison Water Utility customers following a large water main break in Edison.

The break happened Tuesday on Brunswick Avenue, near Plainfield Avenue.

The water main is all fixed up now, but the boil water advisory still remains in effect. Customers affected will have either low or no water pressure.

In a nearby shopping plaza, all businesses were affected and closed Tuesday. Dipen Patel, owner of Krishna Beauty Salon, says their business will continue to be impacted until the roads are all paved up again.

“Road was closed and right now my business is affected because the road is one side,” says Patel. “People can't come. They have to go around. if they find something in the way, they can go there and we lose the business.”

The restaurants in the plaza are still closed, but the laundromat is back open.

There is no word yet on what caused the break.
