A boil water advisory has been issued for parts of Clifton and Paterson due to a water main break in Paterson that happened Wednesday morning.
The Passaic Valley Water Commission says that the advisory impacts residents and businesses near the Clifton/Paterson border – specifically:
  • Clifton/Paterson: Lakeview Avenue from Maryland Avenue to East Third Street
  • Clifton/Paterson: Marshall Street and Kuller Road
  • Clifton: Route 46 (Piaget Ave)
  • Paterson: 21st Avenue going east to East 26th Street.
Officials say the break happened around 11 a.m. Wednesday at 21st Avenue and Spring Street in Paterson. Residents have since reported low pressure, discolored water, or in some cases, no water at all - specifically those who live in South Paterson.
The water issues also impacted St. Joseph’s Medical Center. Paterson firefighters were on the scene Wednesday afternoon pumping water into the cooling systems of Saint Joseph’s Medical Center in Paterson to make sure the air conditioning units inside the hospital were functioning.
Passaic Valley Water Commission officials say that crews are working to make repairs and get water service restored.
Customers who have questions about the advisory are urged to call 973-340-4300 (option #2) or email customerservice@pvwc.com.
