The community gathered to honor fallen Deptford Township Police Officer Bobby Shisler Tuesday morning. This is the first line of duty death for the police department.

The honorable transfer of Shisler started at the Philadelphia Medical Examiner’s Office to Boucher Funeral Home in Deptford Township. Delsea Drive was lined with support from residents and the police community.

“Look at us, we have come together. I'm going to cry like no other. So sorry. This is an honor to be here,” said a woman in attendance at the procession.

“He'll never be forgotten, ever," another mourner said.

“It's just heartbreaking. Someone so young. We just need more community to come together and to be here for each other. That's why we felt like we needed to be here," one resident said.

Shisler died on Sunday, about two months after being shot while trying to detain a suspect who died in the chase. Details about the pedestrian stop back in March have not yet been released.

Funeral arrangements for Shisler are still being finalized.
