A longtime hotspot for bingo lovers in Wakefield is showing signs of decline, and there's a lot more at stake than winning a game.
The gym at Mount Saint Michael's Academy has for 50 years brought in crowds to play bingo, but attendance has gradually slowed over the past few years.
Organizers say that some of the proceeds go toward assistance for students who can't afford the tuition. They're hoping the turnout will make a turnaround because of how much of an impact it has on some kids.
The decline is partly being blamed on competition with the nearby Empire Casino in Yonkers.
You can get in on the game on Friday and Sunday nights.
