Two police officers are cooking up empanadas in a school bus for this. Tuesday's best of New Jersey. I went to Saint George's Avenue in the Avenel section of Woodbridge to highlight Boston. And ok, inside the school bus now, Boston empanadas, we have George Pat. He's cooking them up literally inside a school bus touching the ceiling, touching the walls. What a concept. We, this is plenty of space for what we need from here. We actually, this is our selling point. We'll talk to the customer, we'll take their order, write it down. Then from there, we'll go into one of our fridges. We'll grab whatever empanadas they requested. Then we bring it over to our fryer. Our fryer will then dump it in the fryer. Obviously, they'll cook until they're hot and ready. And let me tell you they're absolutely busting, busted. I love the name. What kind of busting flavors do you guys? We have about 10 flavors. We have beef, chicken, chicken and cheese, beef and cheese, buffalo, chicken pizza, guava and cheese. Um And we also have a vegetarian option called corn bean and cheese. All right. What do you say? We open that one up and, uh, we start serving some customers this morning. Let's do it. We're at Bus and Empanadas. We're in the Avondale section of Woodridge.

I went to Saint George's Avenue in the Avenue section of Woodbridge to highlight Boston Empanadas. Empanadas literally bus in this morning. We have Perry, we have George explain this name, what a concept. So initially, when we bought the truck, we didn't know, you know, we wanted to get a full size food truck, but they were so expensive. So what we ended up doing was we got the the school bus and then we didn't know we didn't even have a name. We didn't have a name for the business. We just had a plan, we knew we wanted to, you know, open up a food truck, but we, we, we were clueless. So essentially one night, I'm over at Perry's house and we're thinking we embrace storing and we go how about busting empanadas, right? Because busting meets for the ju uh newer generation, it means something that is really good food that is really tasty. And now the old folks they're gonna see busting empanadas. They, they're gonna be like, hey, it works because they're selling Empanadas out of a school bus busting empanadas. It's got a new generation. I mean, you really got the new generation out here and you're right on a road so people can easily find you. You're right on social media, right. Yep. So you can find us on Instagram at Bussing Empanadas. Um You can also find us on doordash. Uh, right now that it's a little colder, that's typically where most of our cells are gonna be coming from. I went to Saint George's Avenue in the Avenue section of Woodbridge to highlight bus in Empanadas. Boston Empanadas is busy this morning. We have Perry, we have George. You guys are police officers and you run Boston Empanadas order us buffalo, buffalo cheese and cheese order. So Perry, how does this all work? Well, it's, it wasn't easy to be honest, you know, with our schedules, we work nights, we work days, we work four on four off, but as time's gone on, we've got a lot better at it. Um And how it works. We got a lot of friends from work that help us. You have a big following too. A lot of people know about you guys. We do. So uh Instagram was great for us. You know, people follow us on Instagram. That's where we post when we're gonna be open because because we're cops run open every day. Uh So a lot of how we tell people that we're here or events we're at is on Instagram, which is at, at Boston and empanadas. Uh, but yeah, love empanadas. Everyone loves them flavors again for everyone. One more time. You got beef, chicken, beef and cheese, chicken and cheese, guava and cheese, which is my favorite, uh buffalo chicken pizza. We won't be getting snow but we might be getting some rain. Scott joins us. Now with the forecast, Scott, what can you tell us? But we could see like a half inch to one inch of rain and imagine that to be snow. That will be about 10 inches. So, yeah, let's just uh ho focus on the rain, right? Because before the rain comes, we're looking at this all the fog. Well, you can't really see it. We are looking at the dense fog, dense fog advisory out along the Jersey shore as well as in South central Jersey along 195 and south of that through the overnight. So just take it slow, use plenty of falling distance between you and other vehicles and also just make sure to use your loping headlights very, very important there as we are seeing this dense fog. This is a look over at seaside heights as temperatures are gonna be in the forties. So real mild this evening, cloudy skies and areas of fog as well. We are gonna be seeing that continue through the overnight as that rain is gonna be pushing on and the showers will be building throughout the morning, the heaviest gonna be midday into the early afternoon and then things are gonna start to get better 34 o'clock. So all any of those holiday tree lighting, any of the big festivities should be able to go on into the late afternoon, early evening, but still just have the umbrella with you just in case we are seeing this rain pushing on in from West Virginia of Virginia P A is gonna be moving on in from the southwest. That's just gonna be dumping a decent amount of rain. No flooding though because of a lot of the steady rain is not really coming down hard and fast, just gonna be steady up to a half inch or more. Central North Jersey, a little bit less south of 195 Tom's river down the Jersey shore. As we are gonna be seeing more cloudy skies, rain will be continuing to push in as we go through out your Sunday morning steadier and heavier into the late morning and early afternoon. And then we are gonna start to see that dwindle out by 45 o'clock and then cloudy skies, foggy conditions will be lingering with a few isolated showers still in the cars as we go towards your Sunday night. We are looking at these temperatures, forties and fifties into your Sunday, gusty winds as well. And then we are looking at Monday and Tuesday, breezy much cooler weather as we head into the rest of the week ahead.

Best of New Jersey: Getting a taste of Bussin' Empanadas in Woodbridge

I went to Saint George's Avenue in the Avenue section of Woodbridge to highlight bus in Empanadas. Ok, a lot to digest this morning. We're at bus and Empanadas. It is a school bus. We have empanadas and it's all done by police officers, George Perry. How does this all work? Good morning. Uh It's exactly what it looks like. You know, it's a school bus that we converted into a food truck. Um It was an idea that we had uh probably about a year and a half ago now. Um it all started at a, a Cinco de Mayo party where George brought some empanadas and we thought this is a great idea. So we went out shopping for some something to turn into a food truck and believe it or not. The next day I had a school bus in my driveway. So we started to convert it, you know, we had to turn it into a full blown kitchen and here we are, let's go see, can we go see this? We were on a line coming up too, by the way. All right. Come on inside. A little cramp. So, come on in. There's no seats though, right? Just for the guy working the window. There you go. All right. So what do we, what do we have cooking? So we got Izzy's over here. He works with us. He's frying up some empanadas. So we'll try him a little bit. Um, we got two fryers, which was actually a, a modification last year. We only had one and then we realized that the demand was so high that we had to put a second one in, you know, and sinks. Uh, there's a three compartment sink under here. Water heaters, refrigeration, a full hood system. All right, we have five people inside. So we're gonna make some empanadas this morning. We're gonna be serving them up. We're at the Avondale section of Woodbridge Lauren Dune east from New Jersey.
