On Tuesday. That means it is time to check out a restaurant that makes up the best of New Jersey. And today, meteorologist Mike Rizzo brings us to Jersey City for Ani Ramen house small plates, Japanese whiskey. And of course, Ramen slurp. Sip repeat. It's a phrase that people who eat Ramen enjoy Ramen. Just keep doing it right. You know, when you come for the Ramen, you want to, you know, sip the broth so you want to slap the noodles and then keep repeating yourself coming back to a ra. Yeah, I check this out. This is, this is great. We have one of the Ramen dishes. We have what? Bao buns? That's bao buns. That's with the kara chicken fried Japanese style. Tell me more about that. So it's actually uh you know, we have a chicken thigh which we marinate in house and we deep fry them with a lot of spices in it. It has a spicy mayo and uh like a glaze, which is kind of sweet and then spicy and sweet com and it's really good. So it kind of has that balance and it also it's like it's beautifully like plated too. Absolutely. You need something to look pretty too and you put on the plate as well. And what's that one right there? Uh, so that's our, I mae it's actually boiled soya beans and, you know, we char them on the, on, on our pan and that's different, you know, usually Edamame is not charred like that. Yeah, it's charred with the chili oil. So it gets that spiciness and then we have some salt so that's balance it up. Very nice. Very nice. Well, we're gonna hear a little bit more from Ani Ramen right here in Jersey City. Stay tuned.

It's Tuesday. That means it's time to check out a restaurant that makes up the best of New Jersey today. Meteorologist Mike Rizzo brings us to Jersey City for Annie Ramen house for small plates, Japanese whiskey. And of course, Ramen, we're here at Ani Ramen with Director of Culinary Vihan Patel and tell me what is the vision of the place, what are you hoping to achieve? Because you're here in Jersey City. This is a melting pot, right? This is a huge community with a lot of people coming by only a couple blocks away from the Groce Street Station. So tell me more about Ani Ramen. So basically we are open over 10 years and you know what we want to bring in in in this area like just city to authentic Ramen. People can have a great time. We have a bar so, you know, we can have a great combination of the food and drink and that's what we're hoping to get the community more coming in our restaurant and 10 years is a big deal, right? So what kind of flavors do you bring to the table? So we have a, we have a ramen. Obviously, that's the main one. We have different types of ramen. We have a spicy, we have a one traditional shy with so based and we have a chef special. We have a pork broth, we have a bubs and we have a, you know, wings and so we have a kind of a very variety of various things. Sometimes ramen is known to be a little salty, right. What do you have that sweet to complement that kind of? So we do have our sake, soy glaze, which kind of compliments the sweetness with that sourness or the spiciness, uh, which we marinate our meat into it. That's great. On a Tuesday. Let's check out a restaurant that makes up the best of New Jersey today. Meteorologist Mike Rizzo brings us to Jersey City for Ani Ramen house small plates, Japanese whiskey and of course, the Ramen um we're here with Vihan Patel, the director of Culinary at Ani Ramen here in Jersey City. And it's not just about the food, but it's about the drinks as well. So tell me what do we have here? So we have uh all uh sake Japanese beers. A lot of varieties of wine. Uh We have cocktails which are really, really, you know, trendy and I think this is cool. These are sakes, right? And they come in like a unique bottle. It's like an experience, right? Like I'm so used to it coming in the regular glass that you pour in the little things like that. That's really cool experience. I love that. Uh So we're gonna make one cocktail of old fashioned and I would like you to do that. Ok, let's go. What do I need to do? You're gonna pour two ounces of whiskey? All right, let's do it. Honey Ginger. And how much of this uh just about an ounce, about an ounce, a couple of dash of the bitters. Ok. That's more than two. But sure, just like that. Wow. Never made an old fashioned before. That was kind of easy, nice drink to make. Right. And of course you gotta garnish it up just like that. So, listen, I may not be the best bartender, but they make some really cool stuff here. Whether it's a drink, whether it's food, you gotta check it out right here in Jersey City, Annie Rahman.
