On Tuesday, we show you some of the top spots around the state. It is the best of New Jersey. Join me as I visit Baun Nana's in Jersey City for a twist on an American classic time to show you what makes bananas special back with Lloyd Artoe, one of the owners here. This is where the magic happens. Tell me though. I think pudding. A lot of people think their childhood. How different is this? I mean, what, what should people think of when they see that? Yeah. So people think pudding, they think something like runny and like not at all what we do here at Bain's over here instead of pudding. We use a light fluffy mousse and then we layer that with uh childhood favorites like vanilla wafers, bananas. And we create a bunch of different types of mousses here. We got a French toast running over here. We got the OG running over here. A lot of hustle happening. You can see there's a lot of care that goes into that layer ring and making sure it's specific is that right? Oh, absolutely. We count how many milla wafers go into every layer. How many slices of bananas. There are no guesswork happening here and how much work has gone into it. Yes. So when we got our start, it was originally my wife's recipe. Um, and when I made the first big batch, I actually messed up the calculations, but that actually became like the recipe that we use today. You screwed up your wife's recipe. Of course. I mean, that's just what I do, but it turned into this. It did turn into this. That's amazing. Now, it's not just about pudding, it's not just about banana pudding. We're gonna have more on the savory side coming up later this morning.

It's Tuesday. That means it is time to check out another spot here that makes up the best of New Jersey. Let's head out to Banana's in Jersey City. There is a unique twist on this American Classic Lloyd. It's time to show everyone what banana's banana pudding looks like. So put me to work here. What do we got? Awesome. So here we got our classic Baya's flavors all there with banana. We're gonna start off with the ogog popular flavor. Most popular flavor. I'm gonna scoop out but it's all the way up. OK. Excellent. OK. The next one here is our, which translates to purple yam. That's a healthy scoop B that's a gorgeous scoop. That is a gorgeous. Why is it important for you to celebrate your Filipino roots? So our Ed Jam that we use here, it's actually passed down from my wife's uh grandparents. And so to bring a piece of the Philippines here to Jersey City and share that with people, it's special to us. We can't just show everyone we've got to make sure that we have a little sample because this looks too good to let it go. Look at that So we have to really get it here. It was so good and then there's like a little edible spoon right here. Let me try some of that too. This is great. We're able to show everyone the sweet and it is good. It is Tuesday and that means it's time to check out another spot that makes up the best of New Jersey. Here's one. Join me as I visit bananas in Jersey City for a twist on an American classic. I'm still working on my OG bananas and my UBE. It's delicious. But Lloyd, what else do we have as options? So we have a lot of options for folks here. Here. We have our coquito flavor for the holiday and a vegan and gluten-free Ube Oreo banging here. We have another uh option for our non banana folks because you hate bananas. We got a peach and mango which uses peaches and mango chutney instead. Uh along with a nutella walnut here, this cute little bow bear macaron and for our savory options here, the rizzy chicken and over here uh we have a Kim's Cam Beni which is a Kimchi Ramola with spam and melted cheddar cheese. This is huge. My wife loves spam so she's gonna be so jealous as I take a bite and that is on a pan de sal which is the national role of the Philippines. It's OK that I did the pudding first. Little kick too. This is excellent. Then you guys, we're talking about how unique you are but literally within the US. This is a very unique spot. Tell you, yeah, it's the world's first banana pudding shop where you can get a bunch of flavors, even a bunch without bananas uh by the scoop or by the pints.
