It's Tuesday and that means it's time once again to check out another spot that makes up the best of New Jersey. And today, meteorologist Mike Rizzo heading to Westwood for some signature hot dogs. At 1950 originals. I'm back with Dan of 1950 originals here in Westwood and he's got the classics here. Break it down for me. I'm gonna break it down. I'm gonna break down this French fry first. So the best part about our fries is that they're cooked in beef, tallow, beef tallow is beef fat that comes in large, big blocks melted down and we cook them in these babies and they taste so. Hm D we also have our dogs that are cooked in beef tallow as well. The original dog which is a pork and beef blend. The signature dog which is our beef blend 100% all beef. And we actually have all our toppings that are made from scratch and it affects the flavor, it affects the flavor. And then some you got a beef dog in beef tallow. He, he's got that dog in him. That's it. He's got his dog in me. That's it. We're gonna get down a little bit more in detail about this place coming up in a few minutes.

And today, meteorologist Mike Rizzo is heading to Westwood for some signature hot dogs at 1950 originals. I'm now in the kitchen here with Chef Danny and he's got the topping of the month. Danny. Tell me a little bit more about what you're about to make. So we're doing the Ginger Snap Dog. I know it's gonna sound crazy to a lot of people, but this is inspired by milk and cookies in a Bavarian Winter Village. Bavarian. With what? Yes. Very in Winter Village. So it's German inspired. We are topping this with potato pancakes right now. That's a sour bra and gravy, which for a lot of people don't know is a sweet and sour gravy that is thickened with ginger Snap cookies. Ginger Snap cookies, hot dog. Yes. Then we get apple kraut. It smells great. Then we're gonna do a sweet cream drizzle. That's like your milk element. And that's the cream of the cookies. Exactly. Yes. And then we're gonna top that off with some cookies. It's the perfect winter treat. It's like sweet. It's savory. Oh, my gosh. That's how we look at holidays here in 1950 originals. That's incredible. We'll have a little bit more about their specialty dogs coming up.

And I'm telling you this is something that you have to come out to taste because just looking at them, I don't even know what, what they taste like. Right? It's like an experience. Tell me more what we got here. So all these things look like they shouldn't make sense together. But we have by far our most popular one, which is our hot honey pimento cheese. You have three scoops of Pimento cheese, topped with bacon bits, hot honey drizzle and chives on it. This is our topping of the month, which is the Ginger Snap German inspired milk and cookies. I mean, it's like sweet and savory, sweet, savory, acidic, a bunch of stuff that you, I wouldn't think would make sense in a hot dog, but I promise you if you give it a chance it works. And uh another one of our real uh, fan favorites is our candy, bacon and peanut butter, which again is the saltiness, the sweetness and the savoriness of it all that works well with the hot dog. So this one is just limited edition, right? This is just for this month. Yeah, this is our holiday themes. Ok. This is how we interpret holidays here. So that, that's it. Now, you know, you gotta get down here to 19 fifties originals in Westwood.
