yesterdayA police chase in Berkeley Heights was interrupted overnight due to the snow.
Police say they spotted a 2012 blue Jeep Compass with Pennsylvania registration Saturday around 2 a.m. on Route 78. They say the vehicle was reported stolen from Allentown just hours earlier.
Authorities say when police officials tried to stop the vehicle, the suspects fled, which led to a pursuit. They say the vehicle traveled west on Mountain Avenue and south on Hillcrest Road before entering Route 78 West.
However, they say the pursuit was called off due safety concerns and dangerous road conditions caused by heavy snowfall.
