After five years, New Jersey has punched its ticket to Williamsport for the Little League World Series.
The Bayonne team battled back from four-run deficits twice Thursday night against the team from Darien, Connecticut, in the Metro Regional Championship game in Connecticut.
Then came the breakthrough. Jett Bridges put Bayonne ahead 7-6, then they finished them off.
Bayonne becomes the first New Jersey team since 2021 to earn a spot in the Little League World Series.
Bayonne is the first Hudson County team to reach the Little League World Series in 60 years.
