? An autopsy report proves that a NYPD officer died from friendly fire rather than the beating he suffered at a Bronx restaurant.
The medical examiner said Friday three gunshot wounds led to 24-year-old Officer Eric Hernandez?s death. Hernandez was off-duty last month when six men allegedly jumped him at a Bronx White Castle. Police say the officer stumbled outside where he pulled his gun on a man he thought had attacked him. Responding Officer Alfred Toro shot Hernandez after he reportedly failed to identify himself. Hernandez was taken off life support and buried last week.
The police union and commissioner have been pushing for murder charges against the men who allegedly started the fight with Hernandez.
