A 68-year-old South Brunswick man is facing charges for illegally selling handguns he allegedly purchased out of state.
South Brunswick police say Wayne Bagley would travel to gun shows in West Virginia, North Carolina and Pennsylvania to purchase firearms and then sell those firearms in New Jersey.
Police say they arrested Bagley on Thursday and then searched his Texas Avenue home. Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms agents found seven guns and more than 1,000 rounds of ammunition inside the home. Authorities say additional rounds of ammo and gun cases were found in Bagley’s vehicle.
“Taking illegal guns off the streets is a top priority by all in law enforcement,” South Brunswick Police Chief Raymond Hayducka wrote in a statement. “It was a total team effort involving federal, county, and local law enforcement that stopped the gun-running operation.”
Bagley faces multiple charges, including illegal transport and sale of firearms.
