Authorities are searching for a driver who ran over a Middletown man multiple times after an altercation.
The body of Jason Freeman, 36, was found in the parking lot of the Old Bridge Professional Plaza along Perrine Road.
Freeman’s friends and loved ones were out on Thursday placing balloons and flowers at the site where he was killed. They said that Freeman was an Army veteran who served in Iraq. They say that his family is distraught and confused as to how his life could end so violently.
Detectives with the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office are reviewing surveillance video to see if they can identify the driver wanted in Freeman’s death.
Investigators say that Freeman and the driver argued in the parking lot. Both were outside of their vehicles at the time. They say the suspected driver returned to their car and ran over Freeman multiple times.
It was not clear what led to the initial altercation.
Police have not released a description of the driver. News 12 was only told that they were driving a white car.
Freeman leaves behind an 11-year-old son.
