A Manalapan police officer is facing charges for allegedly harassing a 16-year-old girl.
Authorities say 46-year-old Patrolman Kevin Ruditsky was arrested after a “pattern of illegal behavior” with the teen.
Officials say that Ruditsky met the teen earlier this month at the town’s National Night Out event where he let her sit in the patrol car. They say that in the days that followed, he began sending her sexually explicit messages and photos via social media. Police say Ruditsky then pulled the teen over on Route 9, handcuffed her and attempted to kiss her.
Authorities also say he sat outside the victim’s home in his patrol car after the victim refused to give him her address.
