A man from Irvington has been charged with leaving the scene of an accident after he allegedly hit and critically injured a 13-year-old boy on Saturday.
Police say they were notified of a hit-and-run involving a pedestrian on the 1100 block of Grove Street in Irvington at around 9:47 a.m.
Officers found the boy suffering from injuries at the scene and transported him to University Hospital in Newark, where he was listed in critical condition.
Odaniel Exima, 54, was charged with knowingly leaving the scene of an accident resulting in serious bodily injuries and endangering an injured victim.
