The defense attorneys for the man accused of murdering his brother, sister-in-law and their children last month in Colts Neck say there is no reason to suggest he killed his brother to inherit his fortune.
According to APP.com, Paul Caneiro, 51, was going to take over as executor of Keith's will if his brother and sister-in-law, Jennifer, both died.
But his attorneys say Paul would have only managed the estate, and not inherited his brother's wealth. They also say Keith had also been named executor of Paul and his wife's wills.
Paul has been charged with four counts of murder, accused of brutally murdering Keith, Jennifer and the couple's two children early Nov. 20 at their Colts Neck mansion.
