An officer who was shot during an incident captured on body camera and surveillance video is expected to recover, News 12 has learned.
The New Jersey Attorney General’s Office released the video as part of the investigation into a fatal shooting by police earlier this summer in West New York.
In the videos, a suspect by the name of Kevin Colindres can be seen coming to a door where officers are standing and then opening fire.
One officer was hit in the back, at which point the suspect fled.
About 15 minutes later, the suspect is seen again in the videos but this time he is holding two guns.
Police provided first aid to Colindres on the scene and rushed him to the hospital, but he did not survive.
