Attorney general: Officers shoot, kill armed man after highway chase
The New Jersey Attorney General’s Office says that police officers shot and killed an armed man after a chase through several northern New Jersey towns over the weekend.
Authorities say that a Mountain Lakes police officer tried to pull over 48-year-old Bradley Pullman after he allegedly made an illegal U-turn. Pullman did not pull over and instead led police on a chase through several towns, authorities say.
The attorney general’s office says that the chase ended in Wayne at the interchange of Routes 46 and 23 and Interstate 80 after multiple police officers shot at Pullman, killing him.
The Beacon, New York, man was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities say that he was armed with a .380-caliber pistol
It was unclear if Pullman fired any shots at the officers during the chase. But there were no reports that any officers were hurt.
This is the third police-involved shooting in New Jersey in less than a week. A New Jersey state trooper was shot during an exchange of gunfire at a trailer park in Pittsgrove Sunday night. That officer also shot at the suspects, but was not clear if anyone was hurt. The officer was reported to be recovering after surgery.
And Paterson police shot and killed 42-year-old Luan Agoli, of Pequannock, on Thursday after he was found walking around the area with a handgun and refused to put it down.
