Businesses that utilize AT&T 3G will need to upgrade soon because the company is shutting down its 3G service to make way for the more efficient generation of 5G.
Older devices using 3G and even home alarm systems can be impacted by the shutdown.
Experts say the change comes from the limited space on radio frequencies that are used by services like AT&T and radio stations.
Most carriers that are making the change say they already notified customers.
Several other major carriers like T-Mobile and Verizon will follow suit by the end of the year.
