Asbury Park mother sentenced to 8 years in prison for toddler’s fatal overdose

The investigation found that heroin and fentanyl belonging to Quanique Smith were in reach of the toddler and his 5-year-old sibling.

A 27-year-old mother from Asbury Park was sentenced to eight years in prison for the fatal overdose of her toddler.

Police rushed the 2-year-old boy to the hospital after they said he was unresponsive in January.

The investigation found that heroin and fentanyl belonging to Quanique Smith were in reach of the toddler and his 5-year-old sibling.

Smith pleaded guilty to aggravated manslaughter in May.
