Several New Jersey towns are cracking down this summer and enforcing curfew for teenagers. The latest town to join is Lavallette Township.
The township announced that anyone under 18 years old cannot be out without an adult over 25 between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. This comes after multiple reports of vandalism over Memorial Day weekend. Police say light poles were damaged and street signs were stolen.
Ocean City imposed new rules on beaches and banned backpacks on the boardwalk starting at 8 p.m.
Sea Isle also enforced an extended curfew for teenagers this summer. Residents say teenagers hanging out on the boardwalk and promenade last summer became a nuisance.
Lavallette Township’s curfew will be in effect until Sept. 3.
