Progressive candidate Analilia Mejia has won the Democratic special primary for New Jersey's 11th Congressional District.

Former Rep. Tom Malinowski, once seen as the front-runner for Gov. Mikie Sherrill's old seat, conceded the race Tuesday.

Malinowski congratulated Mejia but said a pro-Israel lobbying group, AIPAC, spent millions to influence the election.

He also vowed to oppose any Democratic candidate backed by the organization, saying, "Our Democratic Party should have nothing to do with a pro-Trump-billionaire-funded organization."
