An Amtrak train derailment at New York Penn Station caused railroad delays during Wednesday’s evening rush hour.
The derailment happened around 2 p.m. and caused delays for Amtrak and New Jersey Transit service.
“One set of wheels on Train 133 derailed while departing from the station. Part of the train was still at the platform, allowing customers to safely and quickly depart the train. Customers are being accommodated on other trains departing New York," Amtrak officials wrote in a statement.
Service resumed normal operations by 7 p.m.
It was not immediately how the train derailed. No injuries were reported.
