'American Idol' finalist Jax says she has thyroid cancer

(AP) -- "American Idol" finalist Jax says she's battling thyroid cancer. MyCentralJersey.com reports Jax was diagnosed in the spring and underwent surgery to remove the thyroid and several lymph nodes.
