Trenton residents are giving up their lunch hours and pulling out their binoculars in hopes to catch a glimpse of a loose alligator that declared Stacy Park its new home.
The park?s pond was to be used for an annual fishing tournament for kids, so it was stocked with fish. Now that there is a gator in the water, the tournament has been canceled.
The alligator was first spotted weeks ago. Wildlife officials think the alligator was a pet before it was turned loose in the pond. It is believed to be about four feet long and growing.
