(AP) - Authorities say they found 38 roosters in a New Jersey man's home that were used for fighting.

The state Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals hascharged Orphilio Chaviano with 114 counts of animal cruelty. TheOld Bridge resident is accused of possessing, training and sellingfight birds.

NJSPCA spokesman Matt Stanton says officials believe Chavianowas getting the birds from outside the United States and wasshipping them out of the country.

The NJSPCA has taken possession of the birds.
