Alina Habba has been named the acting U.S. attorney for New Jersey after she was booted from the “interim” role by state district judges.
President Donald Trump nominated Habba for the role back in March, with her term officially set to run out today.
Earlier this week, the Department of Justice fired Desiree Grace, a judge-appointed replacement, clearing the way for Habba to keep the job as the top prosecutor in the state.
It’s unclear if the courts will step in to pause the appointment.
