German-discount supermarket chain Aldi has signed a lease to become a tenant at the Totowa Square shopping center, taking the spot formerly occupied by a now-shuttered Toys 'R' Us.
Totowa Square is located at 465 US-46.
It’s the first of what is expected to be multiple tenants taking over old Toys 'R' Us buildings.
The Wayne-based toy giant filed for bankruptcy back in 2018, but recently announced a comeback, with stores coming to Westfield Garden State Plaza in Paramus and one in Houston.
An opening date has not yet been announced.
Aldi has more than 1,900 stores in 36 states.
