An Academy Transit bus struck a home in Jackson early Wednesday morning, causing foundation damage that left the residence uninhabitable.
The crash occurred around 5:00 a.m. along the 800 block of East Veterans Highway.
According to Jackson Township Police Lt. Edward Travisano, the bus lost control, veered and struck the front of the home.
No one inside the residence was injured during the impact. The driver of the bus sustained minor injuries. Police confirmed there were no passengers on board at the time of the crash.
Company officials noted that after ensuring the driver was safe, immediate attention turned to checking on and assisting the homeowners.
Inspectors deemed the home structurally unsafe and uninhabitable due to foundation damage and structural impact around the front windows.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Jackson Police.
