A 92-year-old Bergen County man is clinging to life after driving through a railroad crossing and being hit by an NJ Transit train.
Authorities say the crash happened Monday morning next to the station at Linwood Avenue and Kinderkermack Road. Police say the elderly man was apparently trying to drive around the crossing gates as the train approached.
The victim is in a coma and on life support with severe internal injuries and a severed spine, according to authorities.
