An 87-year-old woman was fatally struck by an SUV on Dempsey Avenue in Edgewater on Saturday afternoon.

Emergency responders extricated the victim from beneath the vehicle and transported her to a hospital where she was pronounced dead.

No charges have been filed in the ongoing investigation.
